FAQ

The questions I get asked the most

Before you get in touch, the answer you're looking for might already be here. For everything else, that's what the consultation is for.

Booking and costs

Where and how do I book a consultation?

For now, through the form on the Contact page or by messaging me on social media, I'll reply to set a date and time for your consultation.

How much does permanent makeup cost?

The cost depends on the treatment and is listed separately for the first session and the touch-up: you'll find it on the Costs page. A consultation, sterile single-use materials and quality pigments are always included.

How long does a session take?

Usually between 2 and 3 hours, consultation included. It varies by treatment and by how long it takes to define the shape together before we start.

The technique

Does permanent makeup hurt?

No, not in the way people usually mean it: you'll feel mild discomfort, not real pain. Sensitivity varies from person to person and by area treated.

How many sessions do I need?

Two. The first session sets shape and colour, and the touch-up 45 days later corrects and completes the result once your skin has fully healed. It's not optional, it's part of the process.

How long does the result last?

On average 12 to 18 months, depending on your skin, lifestyle and sun exposure, oilier skin holds pigment less well. The touch-up at 30-45 days is exactly what refines colour and shape over time.

Pixel effect or hair-stroke effect, which is better?

It depends on your skin type and the look you want. The pixel effect gives an even, powdery finish and holds up better on oily or combination skin. The hair-stroke effect draws individual strokes that mimic natural hair, and suits dry or normal skin where each stroke stays crisp. We work it out together at your consultation, looking at your skin.

What is infraciliare?

Infraciliare is the technique that places pigment between your upper lashes, to make your eyes look fuller without drawing an actual eyeliner line. The result is natural, almost invisible at rest.

Why don't you offer microblading?

Because I work only with a PMU machine, not a hand tool. Compared to microblading's manual blade, it deposits pigment at a more consistent depth, so colour lasts longer and more evenly, without the grey-blue shift microblading strokes often develop after a few months. It also holds up better on oily or combination skin, where blade strokes tend to blur quickly, and it's generally gentler on the skin. A machine also lets me do both the pixel and hair-stroke effect, with more control over the final result.

Before your session

Are there any contraindications?

Yes, a few. The treatment isn't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for anyone on blood thinners or isotretinoin, with autoimmune conditions, or a history of keloid scarring. At your consultation, we go through your situation together before deciding whether to go ahead. This is general information from my training and protocol, not medical advice. If you have any of these conditions or take medication, check with your GP first.

Can I wear contact lenses if I get infraciliare?

Yes, it's not a contraindication. Just take your lenses out before the session and wait a few hours afterwards, to let your eyes settle.

How should I prepare before my session?

Avoid caffeine and alcohol in the 24 hours before: they thin the blood and make the pigment less stable. For brows, also avoid shaping them right before your appointment. We'll go through the details together at your consultation.

After your session

How do I care for the area in the first days?

On the first day, clean the area gently every 2 hours with a cotton pad and water. From day two, switch to a neutral soap and use only the cream I give you, without swapping it for anything else. Keep this routine for a week, without rubbing the area. Don't pick at the scabs, avoid exercise and sweating for 8-10 days, and skip the sauna, pool or ocean until it's fully healed. Also avoid makeup on the treated area. I give you all of this in writing at the studio, right after your session.

Can I wear makeup while healing?

Not on the treated area, for at least 7-10 days: it's best left to breathe, following the written aftercare instructions I give you after the session. You can wear makeup as normal everywhere else.

Can I exercise after my session?

No, better to skip it for at least 8-10 days: sweat and rubbing slow healing and can pull pigment out. Wait until the area is fully healed before going back to intense exercise.

Can I sunbathe after my session?

No, avoid direct sun and UV lamps for at least 30 days: it fades and darkens the pigment unevenly and slows healing. Even after that, keep protecting the area with a high-SPF sunscreen.

Can I go to the beach after my session?

No, skip the sea and pool for at least 30 days: salt water, chlorine and sand can irritate the area and raise the risk of infection while it's healing.

Can the colour change over time?

A little, naturally: the pigment lightens gradually under the skin. With quality pigments and the right technique, it doesn't shift toward unnatural tones, it's one of the things I pay closest attention to when choosing colour.

What if I'm not happy with the result?

We talk about it straight away. You approve the shape before I start, precisely to avoid surprises, and if anything needs adjusting at the touch-up, we sort it out together. For work done elsewhere that needs correcting, there's a dedicated treatment priced case by case.
